New Crossbow design
« on: February 02, 2005, 03:26:26 AM »
Hello, I just got off the phone with my father and he mentioned a new crossbow design that was featured on the local evening news last night.  They spoke with the designer and showed the bow.  He stated the following:

The bow portion is mounted backwards on the crossbow frame.  The string is drawn thru the bow limbs.

This yields cancled recoil and noise and he is acheiving todays crossbow velocities with only 80-90lbs.  Also the weight is centered in the frame and not out on the end.

The inventor is from Iowa and the Pat.. is applied for....  It also was stated that he has been working on the design for two years, and now he has two other people working on the design with him....

Has anyone else heard of this or can point me to more information, possibly a picture?  Sounds like a major break thru....

Thank you,  jh
