Picked up my new SBH Bisley Hunter .41 - Issue
« on: December 31, 2004, 10:26:16 AM »
Picked up my revolver today.  Looked it over in the shop, but when I got home I noticed a nick in the top of the barrel.  Actually, its in the ejector  housing on top.  I guess my excitement shrouded my usually keen eye.  Should I be overly picky and send it back to Davidsons for replacement?  Should I just deal with it and keep it?  Should I ask Davdisons for something to make up for it?

That nick is going to bother you every time you have that revolver in your hand. You are going to think about it while you are driving to work. It will sneak up on you while you are on the can and while you are in bed at night. Send it back now while it is still just days in your hands. Maybe your gun guy can help. Call Davidson’s and ask if they will make it right. IT MAY BE SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS BAAAHHAAA!!!!!!!  :)  :-D
Love those .41s'

Personally, I wouldn't worry about such a small thing.  If it was in the bbl or frame maybe but not the ERH.  Call Davidson's and they'll proberly try to brush it of .  A call to Ruger may get you a new housing but not likely.

Was this gun purchaed as a hunting gun?  If so, it's gonna get scratched anyways.

It's easy to replace the ejector rod housing...One screw and you done.  Good luck with Davidsons...
