After getting my new Savage BVSS in .243 on paper, there was just enough time to fire 1 three shot group before it began pouring rain here in VA on Saturday.  I was impressed!

The three shot string made a clover shaped hole measuring 3-4/10".  I was using 87gr Hornady Vmax in front of 39gr of IMR4350, Win Brass and CCI 200 primers.

The accu trigger on this rifle is really nice...  :)

I've since polished the bore with JP's and plan on breaking in this rifle properly the next nice day.

That sounds great borg1.  It's great when a new gun shoots the way you imagine it will when you write the check.

Everyone knows that I'm not a big fan of Savages, primarily because, in my opinion, their quality is sub par.  Still, everyone also knows that I say that there is no denying that they are real shooters, and sub half-inch groups is definately considered a real shooter.  Heck, I know that there are competition shooters out there with rifles costing in the thousands that may not shoot as well as your savage.

Congrats on the good groups.

Thanks for the replies!

I am thinking of 'adopting' a 12BVSS in 22-250 into my stables.

And, the Savages do lack the beauty of, say, a Browning, but i definitely agree the groups make up for it.
