Price check on contender

I saw a Contender recently that may be calling my name.  It's a blue frame with a 10" 22Hornet barrel with a 4x Leupold scope, Pachmayr grip & forend for $400.  I thought it sounded fair... what do ya'll think???

Well, if this is any kind of indicator, I just seen a brand new SS 21" 223 carbine on the rack for $396. As scarce as they are right now, it'll be in my gun cabinet by next week. But anyway, your 22 Hornet is a fair price but nothing spectacular.

Here in my area of Indiana you cant touch a New Contender for less than $450.00, thats without scope, rings, and bases. And new Encore Rifles run as high a $560.00. If your gettin the pistol with a 4x Leupold already mounted on it for $400.00 IMHO id jump on it. I havent checked prices on Leupolds lately but last I looked a 4x pistol scope was around $250-300 if I remember right.

Not a bad price all things considered. The scope probably wouldn't bring more than $100-$125. The frame is worth $175-200. That leaves the grips, forearm and barrel. The barrel is worth about $125 normally, but I've seen some Hornets going for more. You won't get hurt at that price.
