They don't make em, you'll need to buy a 17hmr or 17M2 barrel or rifle  and have it rechambered, then fitted to an SB2 frame.

What kind of twist rate do they have on the shelf?

The 17hmr and 17M2 have 1:9" twist rate. Trotterlg made one, then sold it to Mattparliament who is now working with it.

There is more work to do on the ejector than anything else.  If you want to keep the bull barrel taper it will cost you about $75.00 plus the cost of the barrel.  I had the barrel tapered and re-blued, I bet I had close to $350 total it when I was done.  I just did not have the time or patience to get it shooting, I got a half inch horizontal groups but two or three inches vertical.  If I were to do it again I would keep the bull barrel taper.  The Island Smith in Vermont did the chamber work and I re-worked the ejector.  Larry

I think the ejector would be a great idea. I have been trying to order a barrel for my contender from MGM in 17 Rem. I was told an ejector was not available on a contender barrel. I wanted a #6 taper on a Shilen select match stainless. I am having trouble having MGM remain in contact to seal the deal. I am now rethinking the $$. They want $535.00 for this barrel. I am almost ready to say forget it and maybe go some ware els. They may be too busy. I will keep looking to see what the results of the ejector issue will be.

The ejectors on the rimfire barrels are different than the ones on the centerfire barrels.  The part that slides under the barrel is a different shape, so you need to modify the rimfire ejector to drop down a little to load the rimless case and also modify it's raidus to the larger cartridge.  Larry
