I'd like to get one (since the one from my grandfather was stolen :evil: ). But there are so many variations of it, which one do ya choose? Input would be nice. Thanx!

It depends on what you want. I have a 1951 model and like it, but I want another with angel eject so I can scope it properly. The top eject are fine for using as is or mounting a peep sight, but to scope them you must use a side mount. The pre 64's are the best in my opinion for using as is.

I had a new mod.94 in 44 mag. trapper that thing was a lot of fun to shot .my next 94 is a 1967 Classic in 30-30.if I get another 94 it will be in 45 colt trapper.Winchester is the only lever gun I'll buy. :-)

There is one other variation for the older '94 to use a scope, and that is the long eye relief (pistol) scope mounted on the barrel. It's a matter of personal preferance, but if I absolutely had to scope a '94, (Ewwwww) I think it would be the forward mounted, or 'scout' scope mount I'd use.

To lose such a fine hand-me-down is terrible. But, you have a chance to start a new one. If the cost doesn't bother you, look at a new 2005 Legacy. These are nice rifles! I'd like one of the octagon-barreled, case-hardened models, for myself!
