would it be worth hunting foxed during the day or would night be the time?

They're fighting for territory and breeding rights in your area right now I believe.   Probably the best at dusk and just after dark.   However, I know season ended about 3 weeks ago in MD, at least in the counties a pard of mine lives and hunts in there.

In charles and a few other countys you can hunt fox year round
