i hear the 204 is a great caliber but i think i would go with a 223 if it were me.if you are a handloader there are lots of good bullets in 22 cal out there and 223 brass is very cheap and easy to come by.the 223 is very hard to beat

The theory is 22-250 performance out of a 223 package. I'll know better in a few months or so after I get my 204 home and shoot it some. But then again ammo for the 204 is scarce in these parts right now and if the gun has to come home with no ammo I cannot tell you how much I would regret that i did not go .223.
The big difference in the handi is that at this point the 204 has an extractor where the 223 has an ejector and I hate stuck cases.

I would go with the .223 first. Then if you are like me you will end up with a .204 anyway, which is what's going to happen to me. I just can't pass up buying another one later once other priorities are taken care of.
