Folks: At the gun show today 1/1/05 I couldn't help myself.
There she set pittted from being splatter with blood  from numerous squirrels, dirty, stock dried out from years of neglect, with the same look that the orphan dog that,s sleeping on my bed had. Now on the serious side, is there anywhere that list date of manufacture by serial no. Now I'd be a happy man if I can find a good running rusted out Jeep CJ. Thanks:  :D <>< Duce:

Duce, Seems like I saw where the Graybeard folks weren't fond of us posting links to other rimfire related forums. I may be wrong in that. But if you will post the first letters and several digits of the serial number, I have a list of date codes from another forum. Just "X" out the last 2 or 3 digits.

Nice of you to provide a loving home for this rifle. :)

FC: I don't think Bill minds posting about another forum for imformational purposes. What he doesn't want is someone advertising for members or the mention of a reloading forum that for awhile after us handi'olics landed here, bad mouthed him for having clearly stated rules and enforcing them.

Now as far as the Mountie, through my own research I believe it was made in 69 for the serial no. is 69   4XXX.  I sure would appreciate if you could confirm this. Thanks:  :D  <>< Duce:

Duce;My info indicates your research is correct; your Mountie was made in 1969. The late "Plinker Tom" who posted at MFCA has a post there that lists Marlin DOM's.

Thanks for the clarification on links. This is too good a forum for me to want to violate any rules and get banned.

I have a 39a  with K2068x under the lever. It don't have gold anything, has a dark stock and a straight grip. I've looked at tons of them on the web and only saw one with a straight grip. Like to know what year mine is. & how many made like that.
