Husqvarna 649

Does anyone out there know anything about these rifles?  The one I have is in 9.3x62 and is built on a m38 action without the thumb slot.  It is a larger rifle than the m-46's I have.  Thanks,  Bob

I would suggest you go to the Husquarna web site and review the history of the company.  As I understand the Model 649 was probably built in the 1940s sometime (probably post war.) Husqvarna is the one of the world's oldest manufacturing companies.  The company got out of the gun business, except on a limited basis, in 1970.  It got all the way out in 1989.  It manufactures lawn equipment now.
