Year of Manufacture
« on: December 27, 2004, 01:26:31 PM »
Anybody know what web site has the year of manufacture of Winchesters??  I thought I had one saved as a favorite, but it ain't there anymore.  Tried the "Winchester Rifles & Shotguns" page, but can't seem to find it there.

Do you mean the actual startup year of the company? Or the different dates of the release of a peticular model? If it's the startup year, then the year is 1866. Wouldn't even begin to tell you about individual model release dates (aka Model 94, Model 70, etc.). Take care.  :D

Oldguns.net was the one--Thanks, Graybeard!

I recently acquired a Model 12 in 12 ga. with a 28" modified barrel.  Oldguns says it was made in 1958.  Now my 20 ga. Model 12 (1947) will have a relative in the gun safe.

Thanks again, GB

Offhand35,
Thats what I did. I have a model 12 and found out it was made in1949. Thanks for this info. And my wife said I will never learn anything on these boards. :)
