Rings for Marlin 17VS and Mueller APV

Hi guys, new member here. I have a Marlin 17VS 17 HMR and A Mueller APV scope. I bought the Burris high signature rings and they are too low. The front lens touches the barrel and I can see a small amount of space between the scope and the bottom ring. None of the stores around here have anything that will fit and i don't want to buy another set of rings thru the internet that won't work. Any suggestions on rings that will work? I want rings that clamp directly on to the 3/8" rail on the receiver.

BKL rings will work on the 917/17 with an APV.
