H&R .223 SURVIVOR
« on: February 01, 2003, 06:49:35 AM »
I'VE GOT A GUY HERE IN MY HOME TOWN WHO I THINK HAS A GREAT DEAL OF KNOWLEDGE OF RIFLES.  I ASKED HIS OPINION ABOUT H&R RIFLES.  HE DIDN'T HAVE VERY MANY NICE THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THEM.  I'M LIKE ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PRETTY TIGHT BUDGET AND I'M INTERESTED IN GETTING A .223 SURVIVOR.  I LIKE TO PRAIRIE DOG HUNT AND JUST WANT TO GET ANOTHER RIFLE.  THE .223 IS ECONOMICAL TO SHOOT AND I JUST THINK THE SURVIVOR IS A PRETTY NEAT LOOKING RIFLE.  I'VE ALREADY GOT A ENCORE IN 22-250 AND A LEFT-HANDED REM. 788 IN 6MM.  I THINK THAT A .223 WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION.  WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ABOUT THE SURVIVOR?  THANKS TRAV.

I'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT OPTION ALSO.  WHAT I'M THINKING IS OF CONVENIENCE.  IT WOULD NICE TO JUST REACH AND GRAB ANOTHER GUN.  MAYBE I'M BEING LAZY, AFTER ALL I CAN CHANGE BARRELS IN JUST A COUPLE MINUTES.  ALL THAT ASIDE I'VE READ ALOT OF GOOD THINGS ABOUT H&R'S.  ARE THEY THAT ACCURATE OF A RIFLE?  IF THEY ARE, THE PRICE WOULD BE HARD TO BEAT.  THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE.  TRAV.

Look I own two H&R rifles.  I ain't knockin T/C because they are good guns.  What's funny to me, is that my buddy paid 2 to 3 times as much for his T/C.  For what he spent, on one rifle, I got two rifles.  All that aside, I can shoot with him shot for shot easily.  H&R rifles are accurate and serve their purpose without all the bells and whistles.  It sounds like you have two nice guns already with the  T/C and the Remington.  You throw another twenty-five to fifty bucks on that barrel so and so said you should buy, and there you have it.  A WHOLE gun.  I always like having at least one rifle I can punish and use and not really care about all the scratches and stuff.  Buy the survivor.  Additional Barrels are cheaper than T/C anyway.  Ha Ha.  Little joke there.  Good Luck.
