It's tough to beat IMR 4895, after all it was made for the '06. Varget is a good choice as well and in about the same burn rate.

Try IMR 4064, it gives good velocity and accuracy in the 30-06 at any barrel length. My pet load of IMR 4064 and a 150 grain SPBT was passed to me by a gun/reloaded ammo dealer in the 1980's. Out a good 22" rifle it does below MOA and pushes 3000 FPS.

I cuurently load only 180's in my .30 calibre rifles. I also only load expanding bullets like the ballistic tip.
For my Remington 760 carbine, I use IMR 4320. My deer load (with BT's) is 47.2 grains giving me a MV of 2470 fps. This load has a "Hammer of Thor" effect on Ontario whitetails (and one small bull moose).
For moose, I load BT's again with 48.5 grains giving me 2637 fps (this load should be approached with caution). Factory ammo graphs at 2600 fps in this rifle. This load dropped two large eastern bull moose quickly and cleanly.
