Iwas at the local gunshop yesterday, just browsing, when I came across a heavy-barrel .223 handi rifle.  I didn't know I was in the market for one, but when I saw the price tag ($199) I rembered how much fun my Dad said he has shooting pdogs.  Well i thought about it last night and bought it this morning when the shop opened!  i guess now I've got yet another forum  to check out regularly here at Greybeard's :-D .  Can't wait for the weather to get above 10deg F. to try it out!

Welcome to Handi-holics anonymas wipartimer.  You have taken your first step down a long path of great joy, possible frustration, full gun cabinets and empty pockets. Ya gotta love it. :D

:D Thanks for the warm welcome boys! I can see that this may havewbeen a dangerous purchase though, seein all the fun a guy could have  is gonna cut in to work time, but I guess a man has to make sacrifices. i can't make the praire dog shoot but it sure sounds like fun. i expect we'll hear some good stories afterwards ( all true of course;). Tomarrow I'll stop at Dad's place and borrow an extra scope I know he's got sittin around and see about  gettin rid of that box of ammo the gun shop threw in!

Nice buy!!

I just bought one yesterday myself. I'm up to the range at 7:00am today to sight it in. Many guys here really like Winchester Varmint 45g jhp in their 223's. Just might be an ammo to consider in the future.

Good luck with the rifle and may it bring you and your father many many great times!! :D
