Phoenix Fry's Electronics Prohibits Firearms
« on: January 15, 2005, 10:16:31 AM »
I don't know how many of you shop at Fry's Electronics, or even have one in your area (we have 2 in Phoenix), but I have shopped there for years. Today I encountered a sign at the entrance that wasn't there previously, "Firearms are prohibited inside of store." Since I'm not about to leave a loaded handgun in my car in the parking lot, I will no longer be shopping there until and unless they change their stance; I encourage all of you to do the same. I will also be writing their central office, as soon as I can find whom to contact.

AZ223,

There are a number of retail stores that if you are found to be carrying they will ask you to leave even though you have a CCW.  Usually these stores don't say anything unless another customer brings it to their attention.  Personally I think Fry's put on their dumb hat.  Lawdog

The local Dairy Queen has the same type notice on their doors.  I told them I'm sure gonna miss their blizzards.

They also have a lot of other problems at Fry's.  That sign is pretty low on the list.  You really have to examine the shirnk wrapped merchandise carefully and obtaining an accurate intelligent answer to a question from one of the children working there is a rare event.

Yeah, I learned about the shrink-wrap issue. When something gets returned, they re-wrap it and put a different sticker on it, and put it back on the shelf. Guess they figure SOMEBODY will give up and keep it...

Hmm...maybe THAT's why they put up the sign... :?
