Do Bullberry barrels use standard TC Forends? Thanks.

no, they use the forends that fred designed. these are excellent barrels. I one in 7mag. and it will shoot dime size groups @ 100 yds.

Their synthetic forends are modified factory forends.

Fred uses a hanger bar set up that is actually a major improvement, accuracy wise, over the old screw thru the wood into the dovetail nut.

You can order a barrel with regular forend mounting if you desire but you have to specifically ask for it. Otherwise it will come with the hanger bar system.

The barrels are the same so are the dovetails and positions of dovetails. The hanger bar is in addition to.......not in place of. When you order a barrel from Bullberry you can tell Fred that you want "Super 16" spacing or "Super 14" spacing they are about 3/8" different with the dovetail closest to the frame spaced the same distance from the frame on each.
So his barrels....as long as you remove the actual bar are compatable with factory stocks of the given spacing. Factory stocks will not work with hanger bar fore ends ....suppose you could modify them.

I have ordered four different barrels from Fred and have had many factory barrels.....most of which I have purchased hanger bars for.

Fred at BB makes good products. But, problem with his approach is you have to use HIS BARRELS WITH HIS FORENDS AND VICE VERSA. It is too constraining.

For my handguns I use standard TC barrels and for Rifles, exclusively custom (not BB) barrels. For both, I use VV hanger bars to fit my BB exhibition grade forend, or standard spacing forends that I float using washers. I have to extend the bar channel on BB forend to fit the longer VV rifle hanger bars.

BB solution maybe good, and at one point have been superior, but the fact that he dovetails the hanger bar to the barrel makes it too constraining and in fact inferior to other solutions for me. I like Fred, but I dont see ordering any barrels from him. I like VVs (Steve) removable hanger bars better.

The hanger bars I have from both BB and VVCG are exactly the same.....save for spacing which either could have been had in 14 or 16 spacing. I have several in a box a home and you absolutely cannot tell one from the other. Both are removable and require two 8-32 button head Allen screws 3/8" long to attach to the dovetail nuts. As far as Freds fore end....it mounts quite nicely on either....but the channel was originally cut to accomodate either.
You are correct...he will not honor or entertain honoring his accuracy guarantee if you are not using his forend set up. He is kinda of whiner....

SKB, I believe BB uses the same length forend for both his handgun and rife barrels, whereas VVCG hanger barrels are designed to fit the TC standard screw spacing.

I bought an Encore SS 209x50 last year and now am considering purchasing a .22-250 SS bull barrel for Coyote hunting. I've checked the 'BB' site but have not heard of WCG before. Is there a web site for WCG?

Also, are the factory stock T/C barrels that bad? Anyone have any accuracy experience with the factory barrel in that cal ? There's sure a big differenct in cost !!! :?:

Although I do not have a Bullberry barrel I have heard lots of good about them.
I have a few factory barrels and have no complaints. My factory 209x50 shots MOA!!! I have a .17 Rem that shoots very good also. I may buy a custom barrel but am pleased with my T/C Factory and Fox Ridge barrels.
