I have a "Liberty" Blackhawk in .357 that I bought new in '76. It's had more than 10,000 rounds through it (not an exageration), most of them full house magnums, and is still as tight as ever. I had it Mag-Na-Ported years ago, and Mag-Na-Port also gave it their "deluxe" bluing job. It's beautiful, and kind of semi retired. At the time, it was the only handgun I had to shoot, and if it could talk there would be some interesting stories. I would never sell it, so the value is irrelevant, but Ruger SA's are tough as nails.
Just one memory:
About twenty years ago, my brother used it to take a shot at a turtle in a canal. It was a good 100 yards away - I could barely see it. He fired with one of my .357 handloads with the old 158 grain Speer half jacketed bullets. The turtle exploded, and it took us about an hour to locate the shell and fish it out of the water. My brother is gone now, but I still have the shell.
