Scope weight check

A friend needs to lose a couple of ounces from his standard rifle. He has a Weaver 36 rated, I think, at 17 ounces in Weaver's specs. He wants to know the weight of the Leupold 24x BR. Also, any ideas on light rings/bases? Many thanks.

ajj, I checked a leupold catalog and they list the 24br as 15.3 ounces and the 36br at 15.6 ounces. I use the Kelby rings one screw per side and the Davidson bases. I think thats the rings that Derek Greenaway uses, but check the Sierra competition corner as he state what he uses.
