first of 2009..

 Today was the first day that woodchucks and I both decided it was a good day for an outing..so I nailed my first for this season.
   I didn't plant him with my first shot, since i was shooting 125 yards into a varying wind, quartering from 2 o'clock. Also, my rifle was sighted @ 50 yards and I just free-floated the barrel w/o re-sighting. When I did hit the vitals, the CCI Velociter took this old boar down..right now.

    Rifle..Marlin 795 (self camoed stock)

    Scope..2.5X20 Tasco Bantam (shotgun scope

    Ammo..CCI Velociters
   
    Also shown , a walking/shooting stick with forged top.

Way to start out the new season.  Looks like that old whistle-pig wintered well, but this last spring day was tough on him... ;D
