Wife busted me buying another H&R off gunbroker!!!
« on: January 16, 2005, 04:29:14 PM »
I couldn't resist. It's a old H&R Model176 10ga with a 36" barrel. She saw the item won e-mail and I knew I better just fess up to it and take my lumps. She was'nt too rough on me though I feel a trip to the shoe store coming though. I tried to explain how I needed it for those high flying geese. I wish there where some more turkeys around here.

Don't fell bad a good friend called and asked if I wanted to go to a gun store today I couldn't let him go by him self. I must say a NEF 17 followed me home.

Markus, saw that same 10 gauge myself.

Hope you have as good a luck on the geese with yours as I did with mine this year.

Mine is a 32" Waterfowl special w/Mossy Oak stocks.

Pics can be found in this forum under What I did after work today.

I kinda liked that realllly long barrel.

Hey Markus,
Some roses and a box of candy might help...........But I hope you have good luck and great success with your new 10 ga.  I love my big 10 ga.  I took the steel bar out of mine the darn thing is  already like dragging a half grown child through the woods without that hunk of steel in the stock.

It actually worked out for the better because after the scolding I just went ahead and paid for it in stead of trying to find a way to hide the transaction. I'd rather do it this way anyway as I am a terrible liarand she always catches me.I've been looking for this one for quite a while. The only downside is it is realy hard to justify buying a new 10 ga now. I don't think I'll ever have that last one.

 I saw that 36" 10ga too!  I'm glad you got it! I know that busted feeling, as well.  When I think I've gotten another one quietly in the safe, my wife tells me, "I can TELL when you've bought a new gun......"

LOL MSP ret that sounds exactly like what my wife says: " I know you did it. Might as well 'fess up and it might go easier on you"
Of course I am never quite sure if she knows or not. Sometimes I'm not too sure of which "crime" to 'fess up' too

You guys must be doing sumpin wrong. Or maybe I am.

Heck today I just took the wife with me to the gun store. Picked up a new rifle and ordered two more for the PD shoot in OK in June. As always she didn't bat an eye. Just ain't no biggie and for sure she is used to them coming in here on a regular basis.

Of course she's been watching me do this for almost 40 years now so she's kinda used to it. Guys the trick is to marry one that accepts you as you is up front.

The reason she couldn't come down on me too hard is that we just spent $2400.00 on a mattress!!! When we got together Islept on a futon on the floor. As much as she wants to say it was for "us" She knows she got the better end of the deal.

It is in deed a fine mattress. I have to admit I haven't slept better and woke up with this little back pain in years. I need to go jump in it right now so I can get up in the morning and take the topper deluxe slug out for a walk.
