Where i severyone? I suspect frozen or snowed in.  We are frozen here for sure  20 below tonight with wind chills of 40 below.

Bubba,

I been wondering the same thing. I guess everyone is out rabbit hunting. There was a nice article in the Buffalo New this last weekend on rabbit hunting in Western NY.

Here is a link.

Looks like the rabbit numbers are down from last year but they seem to still be finding them in reasonable numbers. I was hoping to try to get some relief from this cabin fever and get out there myself but with this artic cold weather I might wait a week or so until it warms up a little bit.

My 12 year old nephew has been after me to go. I have been spending some Sundays at the range playing with my encore. I have the 209x50 a 7mm-08 barrel and a 25-06 barrel. Too cold to do any real sighting in but still fun to be out there.  But with the wind chill this morning being -40 I think I will put that on hold for a bit.

Cold here too bubba. Must be a heat wave moving in though; it's up to 13 already.

I haven't been hiding, sick is more like it!
The FLU Thing ya know!
It's been coming on for the past 3-4 weeks, but Friday it finally caught up with me!  Been down for 4 days and this morning I went back to driving bus!  Funny thing, get a Flu shot and get the Flu!

I know how you're feeling Bubba!  Sometimes I feel like grabbing a rifle and just poking it out through the patio door and rapping off a couple, just to say I've been shooting!

Stay warm guys!

Chuck sorry to hear you have the flu. A coworker of mine has been off since last Wednesday with it. She just cant seem to get rid of it.

Thanks Bubba, I'm feeling better now!

Hey, I missed a chance at a nice big 'yote this afternoon!
I was sitting on the couch, watching tv before going on my afternoon bus run and I would check the meadows behind us about every 6-8 minutes for varmints!
Well, I screwed up somewhere ( this meadow is probably 600 yards side-to-side), anyway I got up and glanced out the patio door and about 150 yards out, there was this big 'yote just trotting and stopping, trotting and stopping going across the meadow!  Trouble is he was only about 75 yards from going out of site!
By the time I got the Encore 204 and ammo to the door he was 3-4 bounds from the brush!
I didn't get to fire on a live animal with it, to see what the affect would be!
Oh well!  I'll have the gun near the door tomorrow and it will be loaded!
I usually do that when the kids are in school!

Cold even here in NYC. Looking at at a house on the Deleware river just outside of Barryville in Sullivan County. Anyone hunt near there? Anthony
