Step three: Go to the nearest Gander Mountain, find the rifle you are interested in, and purchase it for the Walmart price...AND without the hassle and wait of ordering one!

I just picked up an NEF Handi .223 heavy barrel (SB2-323) for $187.72 at Gander Mountain. I was nice though and I didn't ask for the price difference too...I just asked them to match the $187.72 and they were happy to do it (even though Walmart did not have the SB2-323 in stock...but I think I forgot to mention that at the time).

No Gander Mountain or Zanders near here, but BiMart's regular price on the Handis is $189.99 and $240 on the Ultras, so I'm not hurtin, tis probably a good thing, too! :-D

I must live in the middle of now where.... No Gander Mountain, never even heard of Zanders or BiMart. Do have a Bass Pro Shops and a Dick's Sporting Goods within an hour and 30 min. but niether of them have great prices.

p.s.; Be very careful if you do a web search for Dick's Sporting Goods. :eek: :shock: :oops:

BiMart is an Oregon/Washington/ Havre, Montana chain...We do have some Sportsmans Warehouse stores here though, they're pretty much like a mini-Cabelas or Bass Pro less the mail order stuff.

Besides small dealers who charge through the nose for everything ($262 for a Handi, not to mention their attitude stinks :shock:), the only alternative to Wal-mart around here is Sports Authority. Their prices aren't great, but occasionally you will find a deal or they'll have something clearanced. I got my Savage 110 from there. During that particular shopping trip I was surprised to find that the salesguy was actually fairy knowledgable. Much more so than at Wal-mart when I have to often help other customers because the the clerk doesn't know if a 12-gauge or a 20-gauge is more powerful, or whether or not to use soft points or hollow points on deer :roll:. I do wish that a real gunshop with decent prices would open up around here.

Spare a thought for those of us who live outside the USA - I had to pay $420 to buy my SS 243 in New Zealand!! And that was after ringing about half a dozen gun shops. There is only one master agent here for H&R and it is illegal (under US law) to export them directly to the user. In fact I could not even buy one to bring home with me on a recent trip to the US. :?

Good Keen man, you can buy one if you can find a dealer who will post it directly to a dealer in NZ. You are not taking possesion of it.

Entirely legal as far as the ATF is concerned.

Now how the unzud gummint see it may be another thing. :?

Just a guess, but I would say that mitchell is somewhere between Canton/Rte.70/ Columbus area....How good of a guess was that?

My local dealer special ordered my 22-250 (SB2-250) for $198. That was the first price he quoted me and I thought it was more than fair.

How can you expect Gander Mountain to honor a policy that states" in-stock item" when you suggest using a "special order internet page"? If the gun was in stock, why would you be special ordering it?
