No firearm, or any kind of ammunition has ever been specifically designed to kill cops. This B.S. is being espoused by the same do-gooders who "feel" that any behavior that involves the slightest risk should be abolished to "protect our children."
These feel-good morons rimind me of the hippies who paraded around in bleached-out attire while whining that "war isn't healthy for children, and other living things." Since my older brother was a poor working man who was drafted to serve a year as an actual combat infantryman in Vietnam, I've always wanted the opportunity to properly inform the misinformed about harsh realities such as war, for example. And this is how I would do it:
No, Mr. LSD, warfare was never intended to be healthy for anyone. Wars are based on bloodshed, and obliterating the enemy of the day to obtain whatever objective the powers that be decide is worth all that expense, and grievous destruction to lives and property. Now, be a good little flower child and go find a worthwhile pursuit such as hooking up with some charming fellow such as Charles Manson, or contracting AIDS, freaking out on drugs, or doing something equally productive to achieving peace on Earth.
There, I feel much better now. :-)
Our local police chief complained that the safety of his officers would be jeapardized by the expiration of the Clinton gun ban. I have yet to see the anti-gun media sensationalizing any incidents involving cops and assault gun wielding bandits in my hometown, as I surely would if any such incidents would occur.
BTW, after bearing witness to a portrait hanging in a local Bible shop that depicts a cop and a fireman as divine figures standing right up there with the angels, an ordinary mortal such as myself couldn't possibly be blamed for assuming that invincibility came with a badge.
My advice to any cop who doesn't feel safe because private citizens have the right to bear arms is to find another occupation. And this is exactly what I told my nephew who chose to become a deputy sheriff.
