I have been looking for this couple for several years and yesterday I finally found some information on them. I knew that Joel was the brother of my great-grandmother Dorcas M Thomas Shaddix and that Amanda was the lst cousin of my great-grandfather John James Shaddix. I also knew that Joel was in Company E, 35th Georgia Infantry but didn't know anything about their family. I found that they had two children: A daughter Mary L born 17, 1858 in Georgia and died May 23, 1925, who married J W Hanson and a son William Henderson born Nov 18, 1859 and died Nov 25, 1912 in Banning, Carroll County, Georgia, who married Elizabeth Gaddy.
