« on: December 14, 2004, 11:54:06 AM »
Where is the cheapeast place to go shoot a buffalo with a firearm. I had one and my daughter unplugged the deep freeze   I will be hunting with a rifle and doing the field dressing myself.

Thanks for replies

Brother, I feel your pain...or rather, my father did when I was a youngster.  We lived in Idaho and he took a military trip to Alaska.  He put a case of king crab legs in his plane and brought them home.  They were in the freezer in the garage being saved for an appropriate occasion.  His son, that'd be me, got somethin' out of the freezer and left it open...and the stench alone apparently told the story to my folks  .  Ooooops !!!  Give that daughter of yours a hug and tell her "thanks" for the excuse to hunt another buff...even if ya don't really mean it.

Oh yeah, the zoo is pretty cheap but ya gotta be quick about it

I heard that Crazy Woman Bison Ranch in Ekalaka Montana has meat hunts for yearling bulls and cows. The only bad thing is that they do not allow handguns for hunting the bison.

Me & 2 friends Bowhunted Sweet Water Creek Bowhunting, Decater, Tx. Last March for Buffalo.  4 days lodging, guided Bowhunting, cow or Bull.  $800 & $100 skinning.  I took a est. 900# Cow the 2nd day & my friends took an est. 1200# Bull also in the 4 days of Bowhunting.  Not a walk in the park but a fun hunt.  (article-story in National Bowhunter Magazine (Spring Issue).  Meat is delicious.  We are going again this March & a couple other friends are going to give it a try.  They have a web page.  The Buffalo are on approx. 3000 acres of a 12,000 acre working cattle ranch.  Excellent lodging, guides & everything is top notch.
always thankful

There's a place in Missouri called Trophy Haven.  They used to be Show Me Safaris.  They have a cow bison for $1000.00  I am going after one in Feb.
