Firearm Safety
« on: February 04, 2003, 06:32:36 AM »
A group of us watched several videos of hunts in Africa. We were appauled by the unsafe handling of the firearms in these videos. Muzzles where being carelessly waved around by everyone handling the guns including the proffessional hunter/guides. Is this common practice over there?
Just another worthless opinion!!

Firearm safety ranks right at the top of my priority list while my hunters are with me. I often tims feel a bit like a nag but I have never had a client or tracker shot.  I would rather be a nag with references then a PH with dead clients or employees!

Like any other activity there are good and bad examples which don't reflect the industry on the whole. There are also problems with camera angles as well, making photo's seem as though the picture taken was a bit unsafe at times. When in fact it may have been just fine. I would be glad to review the video if you want to send it to me on loan!
