Great Traditional Rest Material

I put on some velcro, the fuzzy side on my Martin Super Diablo and it works great. I shot about 200 arrows and it show no sign of wear. It is also very this, so it moves the arrow closer to centershot than the thicker rug syle of leather.

do you place a wood match or tooth pick on the bottem rest to help with clearance or does the velcro raise it off the shelf enough to clear it?

No, I do not raise the rest with a piece of leather or anything else. It offers enough clearance as is. But one thing I do is on the side plate, I cut it so that it does not go all the way to the bottom and on the shelf, I cut it so that it does not touch the sight window, so there is a small gap on the botton corner to let the fletching pass thru.

I've just started shooting this summer but I found that for me ,I had to put a little piece of match under the bottem plate or my fletch hits the corner of the rest and beats up the front of my fletching It might be because of all the twist I use in my fletching...I do'nt know? I've tried to turn the knock but it doesn't seem to help... I just ordered some tapered shafts ... I hope this will clear it up. This will be my first time making wooden arrows I can't wait to start...  i think I'll go with a straighter fletch this time....

In my experience, the straight fletch will affect your broadhead flight negatively

Tomg,
Try moving your nock up a smidge, raising brace height or using less heel pressure in your bow hand.  These will all help ease fletching clearance.  Make sure you put a dab of glue on the front of the feather to nail it down too.
