Has anyone here shot one of these.  I have been looking at ballistics and am thinking about getting one.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I owned a Weatherby Accu-Mark in .338/.378 and it is the real deal.  Very accurate and flat shooting.  I never used any factory ammo in it.  I tried both IMR-7828 and H-1000 powder with the 250 grain Sierra.  H-1000 worked the best for me as far as accuracy.  The recoil was not too bad because the stock is well-designed.  The Accu-Mark comes with a screw-on muzzle brake but I never used it because I don't like the noise.  I'd rather have a sore shoulder than damaged hearing.  I finally sold the rifle when I realized that my .338 Win. Mag. would do everything I needed as far as a hunting rifle goes.  Also, I prefer controlled-feed actions on my hunting rifles.

I collect Weatherby rifles but the .338-378 is one of two Weatherby cartridges I don't own.  Most likely won't as it was never offered in the Deluxe version and that is all I collect.  I have never seen the advantage of the .338-378 over the .340.  The .340 is much more pleasant to shoot and does everything the .338-378 will do at ranges I shoot.  Basically, the .338-378 is just too much of a good thing.  Lawdog
