Another useful use for a saddle ring!

This is for those that have lever-actions with a cross-bolt safety.

If you carry your lever-action in a saddle scabbard with the safety in the "off" position (red showing). The saddle ring will prevent it from rubbing against the scabbard and engaging the safety. Therefore you will not miss that shot when you pull your carbine from the scabbard. I have heard that has happened.

The Winchester 94 saddle ring is easy to install. Just have a hole drilled and tapped. Then screw in your saddle ring. It looks good and still functional. Works on any lever-actions.

If you are right handed and have the saddle ring you can make a nifty "ching sling" setup by utilizing small key rings in the swivel studs and small snaps for the swivels. It also works very well for the "CW" sling setup. That is where I am right now.

I also reduced my LOP to 12.5" and fitted a piece of skate board tape to the plastic butt plate to prevent sliding.

See, and I thought the only other use for a cinch ring was as a running iron for changing brands...
