Hi everybody, i haven't introduce myself, i apologize.
Mac,
i really like the choate set. I have seen their Varmint stock for a long time and probably i will choose my next action depending if it will fit or not.
I can only compare it to the original wood stock that came with my H&R and they are far away. One is for hunting, the other is for varminting or target shooting.
I have a little "roll" with the bipod, which i haven't when used with my more classical Sako where there is more contact between bipod and wood. It's manageable. If you want better stability you could use a bench tripod, the forearm will be perfect, it's wide and flat.
some more pics:
How does it shot, good question. I still haven't the answer, i haven't reach
its limits. I'm quit new to big bore and rest shooting, i cast since one year, i begin rifle reloading with this rifle and i haven't shot more than 300 times with it. I have only a 50yards range.
The drawback is the shooter.
50 yards groups says that something good is achievable.
Today, 5 shots groups except the last, the 9 at twelve is a .22 (someone doesn't bring target and use other's one!). The inner circle is about 1".
v8r,
my smith has made the scope mount with a weaver mount that he had onshelf. The finish is electroless not stainless. It's from '83, one of the last product of H&R.
