ejector or extractor?

sorry for all the bad questions, but I dont know much about these guns. does the encore  katahdin carbine have an ejector or extractor? what about the contenders?

The Encore katahdin carbine has an extractor, some early contenders had an ejector, but now they only have a extractor.  :grin:
If  you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.

Sorry but I would somewhat disagree. Controlled ejection like the Ruger No 1 is good. Open the action slowly and it just pops out, open the action quickly and it flies out like a rocket over your shoulder.

Sometimes in real hunting situations you don’t want to take your eyes off the target (game) any longer then necessary. Looking down to extract a spent casing manually from the breach is just one extra step and more time it takes getting your eyes back on the target.

You may ask the question “ why bother hunting with a single shot if you’re worried about a second shot”. The answer is, “Stuff” happens. Been there and done that, whether it has been with a muzzleloader or a single shot center-fire, I like the fastest reloading method I can employee.
