I can get a Taurus 44mag wit a 12" vent, barrel with scope mounts and rings new for under $300.00. I have now idea how good of a gun the Taurus is and am asking for some infromation on them. I was looking at the Ruger red and Super but if the Taurus is ok Well ?

Welcome to GBO!

You might want to go to the Taurus forum and do a search for that .44.  I think this was one of the models Greybeard himself had problems with.
I'm not sure on that though.

I have a SRH myself.  It's not real pretty but it works.  If the Bisley Hunters had been out when I was shopping for a .44, I'd have gotten one of those instead.  If I was choosing from what you've listed, I'd probably take either a Redhawk (model w/scope rings) or the Super Redhawk.

Let us know what you choose! :D

I've had two of those Taurus M44 12" revolvers. The first one tossed bullets side ways on the target at 25 yards. About half were full broadside entry. The next one was fair but nothing to brag about.

Buy a Redhawk.

Let's see Taurus made in Brazil or Ruger made in America, Taurus made in Brazil or Ruger from America? I"ll go with the American made gun, Ruger. If the trade deficient gets any worse we won't have jobs to make money to buy guns! I buy from companies that keep the money in this country when ever I can. Please,? I've heard the aguments against my way, but your way just isn't working.

Go with the Ruger and you be much happier.  I wouldn't have a Taurus, don't care what the model.  Taurus was one of the manufactures named when they passed the "Saturday Night Special" law.  They were junk then and haven't improved since.  Lawdog
