Ok my b-day is in less than 20 days, and I have narrowed down the options to these two....i feel they are reasonably priced, and I have heard they are excellant shooters.......i really dont care if it is a semi-auto or a bolt, but as long as it is ACCURATE, ACCURATE, ACCURATE, idc.....will be used for stalking down a road for tree rats, and rabbits, but mainly as a sniper gun for (the same) in my deer hunting stand...i will be putting a scope on it.....any suggestions?? TIA!!!!!

Does your state game codes allow the use of semi-auto? Here in PA it is bolt only!

yes in Louisiana we can use any .22 (semi-or bolt)......any other opinions??

Never shot either gun so I cannot go by expirience, but most foks figure on the average a bolt gun is more accurate expecially for a production gun. The bolt is what I would choose. Jim

ive had both guns and they are equally accurate. it would be hard to choose 1, but the only thing is u can do a lot more with a bolt gun because of the trigger.if u like a light trigger go with the 81,because u can get a rifle basix trigger for it.but if the trigger pull doesnt bother u that much go with the 7000. or better yet try to get both!

So what did you end up getting? I'm interested in the 7000 and was wondering what kind of shot groups you can shoot with it at 50yrds?

I got the CZ 452 Lux, and am getting cloverleafs all the time at 55 yds (using a 4x Bushnell scope)

haven't tried it at longer distances, but this is my most accurate 22 rifle I've ever shot.
Would love to go to a 100 yds shooting range... I don't expect the gun would let me down there...

ive shot cuontless target shells through my 7000 from cci green tag, reminton eley's,federal gold medal, but the best groups came from the wolf match extra. at 25 yards you can put 10 shots in 1 hole all touching the 10 score. the guys at the range all came over thinking it was a tricked out 10-22 @ was very surprised to find out it was a marlin out of box gun. rifle and scope set up cost me$264. $195 for rifle and $69 for simmons blazer 6-24-50ao scope. they all had to shoot it and i got nothing but praise about my gun! :wink:
