:cb2: I think I have finally made up my mind. I'm gonna go with the E.A. Brown 97D in 6.5 BRM. This will force me to get into reloading as well. They claim the 6.5 BRM is "store bought" ammo, but I sure can't find a store that sells it. If anyone knows a source for this ammo, please let me know!

I was going to get the same thing but went with the 6ppc instead.I don.t remember anything about the ammo as an over the counter item, only that brass is available from them.I found them great to deal with and I'm sure a call would clear things up,or an Email. It took 6 months for them to deliver which is what they said it might take.I am not stateside so it won't be in my hands until june.I took a chance with all this as I know of no one and have never so much as heard a peep about about their rifles.Do you know anyone who has fired one of these?I am also having one of Steve Earles new Wesson actions built to be ready for my return.Just have to wait............

:cb2: Well . . . . I may be back to the Ruger #1 now. I just got off the eabco.com website, and they have increased the price of the 97D almost $400! The base price is now $1200, and by the time I added all the extras I wanted . . . . At that rate, I can buy a #1, and if I don't like it, buy another one, or something else. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

  I am basically a handgun person. If I spend that much on a gun, it needs to say Freedom Arms on it.
