3,000 rounds is kinda low on the expectations scale :-). A good shotgun should hold up to a lot more than that.
Which Daly are you talking about? I've got the MaxiMag Pump, and in all honesty I would recommend something different. The gun has a very "cheap" feel to it and I've some problems with it snapping on rounds (more than likely a weak hammer spring). Everyone I know who as bought their autoloaders has had to go through 2 or 3 of them (returning defectives) before getting one that would cycle reliably.
If you have to get something under $200, the Mossberge Maverick 88 would probably serve you better (runs $159 at Wal-mart). If you can splurge just a bit more though, the Winchester 1300 ($235) and the Remington 870 ($249) are both SUPERB pumps.
