my next milsurp

i'm gonna get one of these for hunting small game like rabbits and squirrels. not sure if it would be powerful enough to use for larger critters. anyone know where i can get scope mount?

Thats a gun for that creature that leaves the two big straight tracks on the ground.  Sometimes it shoots back at you too.  I didn't know they go that far north?  They must migrate too.                      BigBill

correct. WW1 German 13mm Mauser anti-tank rifle. no recoil pad, no muzzle brake. if that don't make you flinch, nothing will!!

actually i think the 13mm would hurt more. the Lahti has a brake, a better shaped stock with recoil pad and is also heavier. it's also a semi automatic so the action would absorb some of the recoil. the Mauser is a bolt action with a steel butt plate, and is probably lighter. but the Lahti is a larger caliber so really it's comparing apples and oranges. :?

I've seen the 13mm at the gun shows here its an awesome looking gun. It really looks like you left a 98 mauser soaking in the water and it swelled up, well at first glance anyway.

a manitoba guy on another forum bought a pair of Soviet PTRD and PTRS anti-tank rifles for around $2500 Cdn.. he's looking for ammo and there is a long list of people that want to watch him shoot.

Hey Ray!
Me too....but from a good distance.  I saw that very gun discussed on the History Channel.  It was an anti-tank gun Germany developed against the new threat, the British Tank......worked pretty good too!  Anyone know anything about the projectile (I'm guessing it was made of toolsteel)?

I believe the russians just tested a anti tank round on our M1 abrams and it worked in Iraq.  It was a small caliber round that burned its way thru the side of our tanks.   So one little hot round can stop an abrams.                                                                          BigBill
