350 Rem. Mag loads?
« on: January 23, 2005, 01:57:37 PM »
I purchased a Remington model 673 in the 350 Rem. Mag Caliber.  I used it this fall on whitetail deer, and have found that I have fallen in love with this rifle.  Balanced, smooth and easy handling, and it is devastating when it hits a deer.  They don't really go very far at all.  I am thinking about trying to reload this cartrige and was wondering about recommendations for bullet selection.  Most of my hunting will be for whitetails and black bears.  In the future I am planning on trying for an elk tag, and would like reccomendations of bullets for them as well.  thanks ahead for the help.

My all-round 350 Rem Mag load is the 225gr Nosler Partition with a max load of IMR4895.  This load is relatively flat shooting for a 35 cal with plenty of punch out to 300 yds.

If I'm bear hunting over bait, then I just use a 250 HornadyRN with IMR4064.  Certainly, the 225 NP load would work well for bear just as well, no doubt.

You will find the .350 is an easy one to load and will shoot just about any bullet well--except for the Nosler Ballistic Tip.  It is too long with too much taper to properly load in the case due to the short magazine case.

wf,

Try 200 grain hornady round nose with H 4895.  Good load.

8) If you can find some of the Barnes Originals in 250 gr. spire point, latch on to them.  These shoot better than anything else I have tried in my rifles (660s) over RL-15.  Took 2 black bear with 2 shots in Canada last spring.  Regards.
