I just ordered a new marlin 7000 and need to know what scope and what ammo shoots good out of the 7000. i do not want to pay over 70$ i was thinking about a 3-9-40 maybee bushnell, simmons, or tasco. thanks.
Look around and find a Simmons, Weaver, Leapers or whatever you like that will focus down to 25 yards or so(range normally shot by most rimfires).
Stay away from Bushnell & Tasco. Bushnell bought Tasco out of bankruptcy and are only a very small footstep ahead of Tasco -
which is JUNK, plain and simple. I have two Bushnell variables that are brand new and basically useless. One is a Trophy 6-18X 40mm #73-6184(
the one Bushnell recommends for manum springer air rifles), the other is a Elite 5-15X 40mm #32-5154M and both have the same problem. The power adjustment ring is so hard to move it takes both hands and a considerable amount of effort to change the power setting. I called Bushnell on about this problem and was told the ring would wear in with use and that they wouldnt replace them as nothing was wrong with them. This was over two years ago and they are still in my reloading shed. I take them out every time I go in there and work the setting rings and they are still require two hands to change the power setting. I know a number of other hunters/shooters that have the same complaint with Bushnells. Lawdog
