I have been reading alot of options about slings and holsters, could some of you guys post some pics with the slings on your Encore/Contenders

Last year was the first time I deer hunted only with a Encore pistol. I always broke down and packed a rifle as most shooting was 100-300 yards and I didn't fell I was that good a shoot. I used a Virgin Valley 16 1/2 inch barrel with rifle taper in 308 win I had traded Jeff at VVCG for. I used a rifle forearm using a hanger bar and had all the room I needed to hold on, mount a sling and bipod. Ended up with a nice 3x4 mulie and can't wait thill this fall. I like a short shooting stick over the bipod. Made from a small tree while waiting for the big one to walk by. Just finished putting together a Bullberry 21 1/2 inch in 308 with Leopold 3.5x10 for a walk around rifle. It helps to be 15 minutes from Bullberry's front door.

Southern Utah, it's really strange and unusal but I made the exact same strap from scratch a year before I ever saw yours. A while later I ordered a hammer extension from Virgin Valley and in their package was an add for your strap or one just like it. Anyway, you have a great product and a great idea. Pat
Just took a secon look-there is a slight difference. My strap goes straight to the bbl. band while yours seems to also go to a stud on the forearm- is that correct?

Mine uses a sling swivel and hooks to a stud on the grip and forearm. It also works on the barrel bands with the stud( like the Encore with rubber forearm). I guess it could be used without the swivels. A chunk of wire might even " get r done "I bought a used blue contender and made the first one years ago ( I mean years ago ) but sold the pistol tossing the sling in a box. Later I bought a new stainless Contender and was having Justin at Vigin Valley do a triger job and was telling him about an old sling I had made. He had me bring it in and suggested I make some and they would sell em. Justin, Steve and most of Virgin Valley crew worked for Fred at Bullberry before going off on there own. Justin left VV a few years ago tho he was the main wood and barrel maker when they first started. Virgin Valley sold quit a few and Bullberry and AE Brown still do. Fred took one with him to Africa on a hunt a few years back but thats another story.
