I copied this from Buffalo Arms site. It look like you have to tap the front or replace the screw and drill and tap for the rear lever. I just got a Winchester 1895 and I am considering the same sight.

Reproduction Lyman 38 type receiver sight. This sight has .200" of windage adjustment either side of zero. The sight has a pivoting peep to give you two choices for aperture diameter (.080" .170"). Designed for the Model 1886 and 1895 Winchester will also fit current production Model 336 & 95 Marlins. Parts interchange with originals. You will need to have the rear mounting hole drilled and tapped in the receiver by your gunsmith. The mounting screws that come with this sight are made for the antique Model 95 Winchesters, if you have one of the current production models then you will need to have your gunsmith make a new front mounting screw.
