243 moonlight coyotes
« on: February 14, 2005, 09:33:06 AM »
i just ordered a 243 ultra hunter handi to shoot yotes I am wanting to buy a scope that will allow me to hunt in minimal light I guess I am asking to be able to hunt later and maybe even during a full moon. Im looking in the under $200 range. I am considering a mueller at the moment or maybe an aetec but am truly open to suggestions .

I like my Nikon and also Leupold.  I went huntin one night in the moonlight when it was snowing and blowin like crazy and i could see pretty well but im no expert and dont know what scopes are best for this situation.  My Nikon 3-9x40 Buckmasters edition costed $200 so it is in your price range i would say.

I don't think you can beat the Mueller 4-16x50 Sport Dot, the big 50mm objective coupled with the illuminated glass dot is a night hunters dream and The Optic Zone has free shipping on them at this time...

I use the 6X18X50 Bushnell on my 223 and have seen and shot coyotes past 300 yds. on a moonlight night. I could'nt even see them with my naked eye but picked them up with the scope on 6 pr.    Digger
