maybe im asking a dumb question, but what is the difference between a marlin mod. 60 and a marlin-glenfield 60?
when i was a kid, i had the marlin-glenfield, it was an 18-19 shot, tube fed.
who is glenfield? the guns seem identical.

Mike,

The differences, if any, will be very slight. The Glenfield line was/is the name that Marlin chose for their national accounts such as the major hardware chains, large department stores,etc. Any differences will be cosmetic and will not effect the operation of the rifle. One difference that comes to mind; the Glenfield line used walnut stained hardwood for stocks and the Marlin used real walnut, IIRC

so i guess the new model 60's are alot more like glenfields.. beech stained walnut.

I don't know if they are all this way but my Glenfield has a much nicer shaped stock; higher comb and semi-beaver tail fore arm. Too bad it has that stupid embossed rabbit design.
