anybody shoot the 45 lc 2" model?

Yeah, the l.c. carry model.  There has been some debate concerning the quality of the newer taurus revolvers, and I'd like to know if anybody has handled one?  more bullet choices, bigger bullets, and it would kick less than a 357. And their website says its the same dimensions as the 357 7 shot carry revolvers. Whats the scoop?!

Yup. Got a 450 UL (5 shot) a while back. Had some problems with the cylinder failing to locking up at first (it would over rotate) but a little polishing fixed that. Recoil is stiff but I consider it manageable. The grips really help. I'm still working on accuracy but -10 to -20 temps aren't conducive to testing loads. The light bullets(200 gr) shoot pretty low with my gun so I have stuck with the 240 -250 gr range. I recently purchased some 45 schofield brass to try as the cylinder is a bit shorter than most guns and the bullets I have been casting are a bit too long for regular brass. Initial firing has indicated that they may be more accurate than the full length 45 cases and they really eject nice. I have had some problems when shooting dirty powders. The residue (mostly partially burned powder) likes to get in between the crane and frame making it difficult to close the cylinder after a lot of shooting. Still plan on running another 1000 or so rounds through before being comfortable using it as my carry weapon. A little trigger work may also be in order.
Just another worthless opinion!!

Hey! Thanks for the info! The recoil is less for a 45 than a 357 right? I've owned both, but it's been a while.  I assumed chamber pressure was the main indicator.

I wouldn't say less. It depends on what level 45 loads you are shooting. There seem to be about 3 different load levels to suit old and imported guns...S&W and Taurus.... and Ruger, Thompson, Freedom Arms.  Standard factory fodder is loaded to low pressure as is the new cowboy action stuff, to account for the older guns and could probably be comparable to mid to upper level 357 loads. Custom loads such as Corbon are going to be considerably stiffer. No one can really get a good answer from Taurus on what their guns will handle. They just seem to spout SAMI specs which the factory loads are at, but it is somewhat of a consensus among shooters that they can handle more but may not hold up under the Ruger Thompson, FA level loads
Just another worthless opinion!!
