209x45 encore barrel
« on: March 22, 2005, 04:02:46 AM »
does anyone know if you can cut back a 209x45 rifle barrel down to 14 or 15 inches and still have the ramrod holders in place?

I will be getting a package deal that has a 209x45 rifle barrel but what I realy want is a barrel that is around 14-15 inches for my deer hunting.

I would look at the 50 cal Encore if you have one and see where the barrel bands for the ram rod are. I have know several people that have M/L pistol barrels and they carry there shortened range rod in a holder off there belt. I remember the one I got with my Encore 50 cal pistol barrel and it was just to short. I liked the Idea of a shortened range rod, plus you can also carry it in a back pack. Just some ideas.  :D

I have a contender 209x50 bullberry barrel thta has no barrel bands
so I have to carry the ram rod in a pouch on a shoulder strap. it will not work at all on my belt

I find this to be a little of a hassle for my style of hunting That is why I want one that is attached to the barrel and I can carry the extra load tubes in my shirt pocket
