Howdy!

Just put my new S&W 340 scandium thru the paces for the first time. Now I gotta clean it up!! I've heard some horror stories about peeling finish using some cleaners/solvents. Anybody have an idea what I need to get the job done right?

You say "new. Bought new? Then you must have gotten an Owners Manual.
Bought second hand but new to you. Try the S&W web site.
Get a manual or ask their Consumer Help site. life is good.

Owners manual had some vague generals, but I was hoping someone had a suggestion on a SPECIFIC PRODUCT that is suitable.

I had a 341 scandium. And I cleaned it just like my other guns. Not one problem. My buddy as the .357 Mag scandium, and he cleans his the same way I did.

But the best thing to do is consult your owners manual.
