What is the screw size and thread pitch for the rear sight/scope mount holes (Contender)?

Hello Curtis,

T/C uses 6-48 screws for both the front and rear sight/scope mounts in both the Contender and Encore barrels.

6x48 i believe

I had a hard time finding a tap locally so i ordered one from brownells.I also got an assortment of torx base screws and plugs to fill holes left from removed sights. They where relatively cheap by the dozen. I got a bottom tap, and ground a little more off the end and use it to clean out old loctite from the threads. Hope this helps- Tad

Tad, that is exactly what I have in mind, a bottom tap to chase out the threads.

Great Idea! Just be careful not to break the tap off. This ol' dummy can personally assure you that it's hard to get out. Small tap + big handle = Break easy. GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt :oops: :oops: :oops:
