Yugo SKS magazine
« on: February 17, 2005, 05:06:58 PM »
I found a magazine for an SKS in Sportsman's Guide and was wondering if anyone else has tried them.  Are there any modifications that have to be made?

Thanks in advance.
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

Don't know for sure when I had my SKS some fit in and out ( Made that way) and others you had to have a adaptor. ( No not AK mags) They were for the SKS. I would think Cheap Mags would be available now and to be honest I never ordered from this co though I used to get their catalogs as I thought there prices were not really bargains. MHO Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

First off ,if you try to put this magazine on your Yugo SKS you are voiding it's curio and relic status with BATF.Secondly I have tried several large capacity after market magazines on SKS's and most of them are unreliable in feeding or don't stay in the rifle. If you will research messages on several forums you will find others had the same experience. The aftermarket magazines are 98% crap.
Last,I don't understand the need for this much magazine capacity except for the "cool" factor. These long magazines are impossible to shoot from a bench. You are much better off putting the money you would spend on this into ammunition.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.
