Maybe it's just my woods but the matte nickle looks more natural than the black. Then again I've had a gun with a nickle reciever most of my life. If you wanted to go the accesory barrel route there's a good chance you might not get it back for turkey season. You could always just throw some camo tape over it.

czbuff,

took me 2 weeks to get my TDC from Walmart. However, they had received it about 3-4 days earlier but never called me. In fact, I came to the store and asked about it on two different times and they told me it had not come yet even though it was sitting in the back. Sporting Goods did not know who ordered it and were ready to put it out on the rack. Problem was I was talking to different uninformed salespeople each time.

My advice is to find out who the manager of sporting goods is at your Walmart and when he works. I would call him maybe 1 week after you order and follow-up. Be sure to check your gun out  before you take pocession. Mine was scratched up.

However, I love the gun. I saw a Stoeger (sp?) single shot with ventilated rib at a convention. The TDC is far better quality. The Stoeger ventilated rib was very short so aftermarket sights would not work well for it.

Congrat's on a fine choice. You might want to check after a few days. If sports south has them in stock it might be there in a few days. The folks at walmart are here vary from teens that could care less to the mentally handicapped to a few that are just down right obnoxious. The last gun I bought there only took 3 days from when I ordered it. The manager was training an assistant manager and I had to tell him how to fill the form out.
They are so cheap though I guess you should expect to work a little for it. Get ready for the walk of shame as you are escorted through the store to your car by the manager. I guess they figure after all of the crap they put you through they don't want you to have a gun in the store.

Yeah that walk of shame and being able to really look at the gun before the purchase was the reasons I paid an extra $15 for my Huntsman and bought if from a gun dealer. However, I may buy from them again especially if the price difference is greater than $15.

Quick and easy camo for a stainless bbl is done with black, red, & green magic markers in a tiger strip pattern. After the season is over a quick wipedown with laquer thinner and it's gone. I've done this with my Ruger SB Hunter and it worked like a charm. I used Berol "permanent" markers, and the laquer thinner makes it non-permanent in a heartbeat.
