Nothing here yet, I don't think their even out of the mud yet too.  I noticed in the spring fishing from shore when there no weeds(cover) yet there is no bass.  I think the spawn will take 4 more weeks yet for the water to hit 50 degrees the air temps aren't a steady 50 yet during the day and we just hit 30 degrees this morning so we had a set back in our progress towards the spawn too.  I've been out practicing my presentations with some new baits but that gets old pretty quick.  I emptied out my tacklebox about 50% of the baits are gone, from now on i'm just carrying what i know works and nothing extra.  But i did add some new lures to my tacklebox this year.  I found some new ones at Cabela's   The Polish Perch and Gapen stuff while its on the large size that maybe what it takes to land another big bass you just never know what they will hit.  They like the 7 1/4" Bass Pro Shops Stick o worms too.  I just can't wait to fish those hot muggy mornings in the dark when the bigg'ins are feeding in the shallows.                                                                      BigBill

Lawdog,
I would have to break ice to do any bass fishing at this point in time.
Good luck in sunny Cal.

They are getting very close right now. They are very shollow and moving in the back coves, up here on lake shasta. I went out three days ago and caught a mess of fish.

So I've noticed.  But these intermittent cold fronts keep playing havoc with the fishing though.  Lawdog

While I do fish Lake Shasta on the occasion but usually not for Bass, most of my Bass fishing is on private farm ponds and reservoirs in the North Valley.  Lake fishing is usually confined to Clear Lake and Spring Lake down by Santa Rosa.  I prefer to fish known Big Bass water.  I also prefer to fish shallower water.  As far as getting together sometime drop me a PM and I’ll send you my e-mail address and we’ll go from there.  Lawdog
